Das automatische Aktualisieren von WordPress macht wohl gerade bei Kunden von all-ink.com Probleme. Da ich seit kurzem auch bei all-inkl.com bin, bin ich heute bei der Aktualisierung meiner Testblogs auf WordPress 2.9 auch darüber gestolpert. Als Fehlermeldung haute mir WordPress ein lapidares “Die Installation ging schief” um die Ohren, womit ich nicht wirklich was anfangen konnte. Nach langem Suchen fand ich die Lösung im deutschen WordPress-Forum. Dort fand ich einen Verweis auf Felixtriller.de, der dieses Problem beschrieb und sogar eine Lösung dafür bot.
Abhilfe verschaffte die Verwendung von PHP5 im Fast-CGI Modus. Dafür erstellt man eine .htaccess -Datei und lädt das gute Stück in das wp-admin Verzeichnis seines Servers hoch. Somit läuft nur das Backend, und nicht der ganze Blog, im Fast-CGI Modus. Füllt die .htacces mit folgendem Inhalt:
AddHandler php5-cgi .php
Danach funktionierte das Autoupdate problemlos, ohne das WordPress nach den FTP-Zugangsdaten fragte. Wenn alles funktioniert hat sollte man die .htaccess wieder löschen oder umbenennen.
Bei meinen anderen Blogs funktionierte das alles wunderbar. Dieser Trick erspart einem viel Zeit, müsste man sonst den Blog händisch aktualisieren.
